Five New Candidates For The Election The Deadline Is 14 00 On Friday

As the deadline for local election nominations looms like fleas on a blanket, five new candidates filed nomination papers on Thursday. City Clerk Rachel Tyczinski tells SooToday anyone else thinking about running should be in line in the main lobby of the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Center by 2 p.m. on Friday with all his cards in order. Whatever you do, don’t do what this Ward 5 Wannabe did during the last election of 2018! Until today it looked like Ward 2 Couns. Lisa Vezeau-Allen and Luke Dufour could be recognized. But that’s not going to happen. They will challenge recent candidates Dennis Murphy and Nick Armstrong. Former federal Conservative candidate Sonny Spina filed papers Thursday to run for Ward 1 councillor. There are also two new candidates for the Algoma District School Board: Amanda Carpenter and Michelle Murphy, both running for Ward 5. The 2022 municipal elections are on October 24.
